If you penetrate your roof using a turtleshell, you must know what you're doing. A turtleshell will become a permanent fixture of your roof's draining system. It will take a knowledgeable roofer, plumber, or an experienced maintenance or facilities manager to install a turtleshell. If you decide to go this route, you will save money, but with anything involving the penetration of roof membrane, you must be sure that you follow-up with necessary inspections and/or licensing at your own descretion. The turtleshell is without a doubt the most effective and cost-friendly way to target ponds, and keep them off your roof for several years!
When and where we recommend using a turtleshell:
Large roofs with multiple ponds:
Shopping Centers, Strip Malls, Large Businesses, Warehouses, etc.
The electric roof drain is a full automatic drainage system that targets the ponds themself. Each unit supports 2 turtledrains (2 ponds) which are connected to a box located on either the inside or the outside of your building. An electric roof drain can be installed as a permanent fixture (by using PVC as plumbing, fastening box to building), or as a temporary unit (fast installation with hose, hanging unit off side of building). Visit our Videos & Demos page to see an electric roof drain in action!
The Electric Roof Drain is a non-invasive way to remove standing water by targeting ponds. It is an automatic system, so after installation, it will keep the water off your roof permanently while never having to penetrate you roof or interfere with your buildings plumbing
Perfect for: fast food chains, gas stations, schools, office buildings
